South Ribble Development Centre
Founded in 2019 by esteemed committee member Darren Swarbrick with a vision to provide a friendly, fun and welcoming environment to athletes of all ages, genders and abilities. Darren had worked with the FA for many years helping clubs establish themselves and work through the issues of providing football for youngsters and lucky for our children, one day in sunny 2019 decided that he wanted to establish his own club.
Naming the club South Ribble Development Centre, Darren wanted instil a philosophy of development and opportunity throughout all the teams. Football is a universal game and everyone should have the opportunity to participate in the sport, whether this is your first time playing football and you want to join in to make new friends and have fun or you are looking to improve your skills and push for trophies and glory then this is the right club for you.
“Football is a universal language. It brings people together, irrespective of their nationalities, cultures or beliefs” - George Weah

We have teams at nearly every age group, ranging from Development squads at Under 6 (School Year 1) right up to Under 14’s and multiple teams within age groups competing in the Mid Lancashire Colts Junior Football League, the Central Lancashire Junior Football League and the Blackburn & Darwen Football League. We have 2 open age Men’s teams competing in the Lancashire Sunday Football League and a newly founded Women’s team who we are hugely excited about. We are committed to providing FOOTBALL FOR ALL in the Lancashire area and are always open to establishing new teams, taking on new players and seeking out new coaches.
We have created fantastic links with the local community and use locations such as Seven Stars Primary Schools, Wellfield High School, Lancashire FA, Runshaw College, Leyland Leisure Centre and Leyland St. Marys High School to provide excellent facilities for our athletes to train and play.
All our team Managers & Coaches are FA DBS cleared and hold or are working towards FA Coaching Qualifications, we also fund and support further qualifications so that our very much appreciated volunteer coaches can increase their knowledge to provide fantastic sessions for our athletes.
The club holds the FA Charter Standard Mark and we have developed and adhere to our own strict Code of Conduct as well as supporting the Football associations Respect Code of Conduct. Our ethos is to develop each of our players and teams to be the best they can be in a safe, competitive but enjoyable environment.
