U9 Golds

Our U9 Golds play in the Mid Lancashire Colts Junior Football League in the Grey Division. They play their home games at Leyland St. Marys High School on the astro turf, this terrific venue ensures that all home games are guaranteed to be on due to the high standard of the all weather pitch and allows us to provide football to the children nearly every weekend. At this age there are no results submitted and no league tables as it is about building their confidence and skill levels and their love for the game. The league tracks the results of the games so that they can organise the fixtures and leagues so that the games are competitive, and teams are matched with others of similar ability.

At this age they play 7v7 and our Golds currently have 12 players registered. They have been together now for 18 months and have improved massively. The majority of this team joined with very little experience in junior football, it has taken them a bit of time to get used to the competitive nature of the league but their enthusiasm and enjoyment of the game shows every time they turn up for training and games. The coaches ensure that the training is enjoyable and focuses on development and the results can be seen as the team has improved dramatically. They are a fantastic group of kids and are supported by great parents who constantly find ways to raise money for the team.

They currently train on a Wednesday night at Leyland Leisure Centre Sports Hall at 18:00-19:00 and play their home games on a Saturday morning at Leyland St. Marys High School at 11am.
