Gresham Office Furniture

Gresham began life in 1976 when Ted Smith, a typewriter engineer, was sick of seeing too many tatty and tired desks during his work, so he decided to design and build a desk in his garden shed.

Named the Design2000, the desk was an overnight success. Built to last, it was soon a firm favourite with police authorities, higher education, and construction sectors, right across the UK.

From desking and then storage, we started making furniture in the 1990s. Always a proud Bolton-based business, we brought all our operations to a single 180,000 sq ft site in 1999. Today, we have grown to 200,000sq ft with tens of thousands of products produced each week.

Always an independent, family owned and run business, our current MD Julian Roebuck bought the firm in 2008.
